Read this chapter about Anger and find it is great... let me summarize a bit...
"A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit" Proverbs 15:13
Cheerful will always outlast beautiful. Beauty is fleeting, but a kind and gentle countenance will endure. You can have a cheerful face regardless of your age. Its glow will soften the effecs of the passage of years. Your face can either be lined from repeated smile or repeated frowns.
If you foolishly embrace rage as a garment of strength or hide yourself in the shrouded past of unresolved issues, it will inevitably and eventually drain the very life from you. Ungodly anger or rae causes you to push away and alienate the very ones you need and long to draw near. We all need an atmosphere of supportive relationships to flourish and grow throughout our lives. Habitual anger sows suspicion and fear where there should be trust; violence where there should be safety; and hostility where there should be intimacy.
"The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit" Proverbs 15:4
"Pleasant words are honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 16:24-25
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to you in the name of Jesus. I realize my words at times have been reckless and injurious not only to others but to myself as well. Lord, may my tongue become an instrument of healing. Let my words be pleasant as a honeycomb and healing and restorative to the soul. Heal my very bones, and give me health and strength in the foundational core of my structure and my blood. Let any rottenness be removed from my life, and in turn use me as an instrument of healing in the lives of others. Allow me to bless those who have been cursed. Teach me to bless those who curse me. As i guard my mouth rebuild the walls of protection around my life. I will feed upon your goodness, for "your words were found, and i ate them, and your words was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart. For i am called by your name, O Lord of God of hosts" Jeremiah 15:16
Amen! :D
